Josh Brolin’s Successful Villain Roles (Besides Thanos)

Josh Brolin is an American actor born on February 12, 1968. He got popular for his roles as Llewelyn Moss in No Country for Old Men, Agent K in Men in Black 3, George W. Bush in W., Dan White in Milk and Thanos in Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. He has also been nominated for Oscar and SAG.

“Bigfoot” Bjornsen

In Inherent Vice, Josh Brolin plays “Bigfoot” Bjornsen, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson.

A darkly comic detective novel set in 1970s California, the plot follows sleuth Larry “Doc” Sportello whose ex-girlfriend asks him to investigate a scheme involving a prominent land developer. Themes of drug culture and counterculture are prominently featured.

Brand Walsh

The Goonies is Josh Brolin’s first film and was fortunate to work immediately with the legendary Steven Spielberg. As Brand Walsh, Josh Brolin left a strong impression on the audience when he debuted.

Jonah Hex

Josh Brolin plays Jonah Hex in the film of the same name, directed by Jimmy Hayward. The film was a great disappointment for 2010 in terms of both expertise and ticket sales. However, the role of Josh Brolin’s bounty hunter Jonah Hex still received countless compliments from the audience and many thought that he was the only bright spot of this movie.

Agent K

In Men in Black 3, Josh Brolin plays Young Agent K, directed by Barry Sonnenfeld. Slim and seductive are the words that people often use to describe the young Agent K of Josh Brolin. With his acting, the audience can sometimes not recognize him as the lead or villain. It is because Agent K always behaves friendly to the subtle and also extremely violent when needed. It is not easy to play the role of a bad guy, but Josh Brolin has completed successfully.

Detective Nick Trupo

A true story tells about the ups and downs and accusations of gangs specializing in drug trafficking illustrious throughout the 70s in the United States. It’s amazing that this story has only been brought to the screen so far. Now, it’s also hard to find two famous actors playing drug lord and smart cops in the same movie as Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe.

Thanos

In 2014, through a consistent voice and a good expression, he was cast as the villain Thanos in Marvel Studios’ Galaxy of the Guardians. He continued to play his role in the film The Avengers: Age of Ultron 2015. A role using motion-capture and CGI technology will be very difficult to leave many emotions for the audience. However, Josh Brolin’s Thanos has changed all of these preconceptions.

The Mad Titan is an ambitious person with extraordinary energy, this is shown by his “champion” power and outstanding victories. However, Thanos also promptly left enough moments for the audience to tears in Infinity War and the “water-like” dialogue in Avengers: Endgame. This accidentally turned Josh Brolin’s Thanos into the most impressive villain of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Joe Doucett

Josh Brolin plays Joe Doucett in Oldboy, which is directed by Spike Lee. Josh Brolin from Oldboy depicts a man who was kidnapped on his daughter’s birthday and was released 15 years later. The only thing Doucett (Josh Brolin) thinks about is revenge on the person who pushed him into this path. Although not really successful, Josh Brolin still received many compliments because he described the emotions and violence of this character.

Matt Graver

In this movie, he has to find ways to eliminate these drug lords in order to prevent illegal transfers of people across the border.

Matt Graver came to the super-assassin Alejandro. The two plotted a daring plan, killed the lawyer of one drug lord and kidnapped the daughter of the drug lord, creating a fake scene for them to kill each other. The idea is so, but the implementation process has not gone smoothly due to the unintended involvement of Mexican police. Josh Brolin has really helped his characters become attractive with his strong manliness and ruthless assertiveness.

Llewellyn Moss

In No Country for Old Men, Josh Brolin plays Llewelyn Moss, directed by Joel and Ethan Coen. The film is adapted from a novel of the same name published in 2005 by Cormac McCarthy. No Country For Old Men has received 4 Oscars. Llewelyn Moss, a poor man, picked up a $ 2 million cash chest after a bloody purge of the gang of trafficking gangs. Unable to bear the temptation, Moss runs away with the fateful chest, only to become the victim of a brutal chase. A movie full of entertainment, told with the perfect beauty of the film language with more or less profound philosophical thought.

Cable

Cable’s role in Deadpool 2 has been simplified by filmmakers to the maximum to fit the plot of the film. However, Josh Brolin’s acting exceeded all filmmakers’ expectations without affecting the storyline. The cold, rebellious and compassionate is what the audience felt in this character at first sight. Deadpool 2 has to admit that they didn’t spend a lot of time “taking care of” Cable’s character, simply because he’s not the central character. In fact, the story of Nathan Summers is a bit sketchy in comparison to the original.
