Australian actor Hugh Jackman had played as Wolverine for nearly two decades. All changes of Hugh Jackman were displayed clearly in each period of Wolverine. Let’s look back after 17 years of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine!

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

Hugh Jackman started working as Wolverine in 2000 at the beginning of X-Men. This was also the role to help the Australian actor come into Hollywood.

At the age of 31 years old, with a height of 1.88 meters and a yellowish-brown beard, the actor gave the character a wild appearance. In addition to fitness to have a satisfactory role, he also had chest hair to make the character exuding a sense of beastly humans.

Wolverine had always been one of the central characters of X-Men. This was the image of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in X-Men part 2.

The ability to fight was one of the points making Wolverine the most powerful warrior of the mutant world.

In X-Men 2, from a lonely warrior, Logan had finally joined with the X-Men team to protect and fight for the rights of mutants.

X-Men: Last Stand debuted in 2006. People considered it the most tragic failure among the three parts of X-men.

Entering the third part, Hugh Jackman was 37 years old. The muscles of his chest and biceps became the focus of every frame. To have beautiful muscles, Hugh Jackman maintained a gym regime for more than three hours a day and follow a severe diet.

However, the character Wolverine of Hugh Jackman still played an important role in this part when he was the one who killed Jean. At that time, Jean was becoming out of control because Dark Phoenix was possessing Jean. Wolverine could protect the rest, but killing his beloved himself had left him many painful memories.

After impressing the audience through 3 parts of X-Men, in 2009, Wolverine had a separate movie “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”. As of now, this was the only X-Men character to have a separate movie.

It was not until this movie that all Logan/ Wolverine’s past secrets were revealed. They included the event he had to hide his life since he discovered he was a mutant. In addition, the stories that he became an object of weapons research and was injected with Adamantium were told, too.
The scene of the Wolverine awakening from a cold water tank showed the full body of the Australian actor. He was 40 years old at that time. Hugh Jackman had long hair which was suitable for the appearance of a character experiencing painful loss.

After flipping through the screen as a guest role in X-Men: First Class in 2011, in 2013, Hugh Jackman continued his own part as Wolverine.

The context of the movie following the events at X-Men: Last Stand, Logan had an obsession with killing Jean and many others. Therefore, he could not find peace in his mind.

In movie The Wolverine (2013), Logan came to Japan to meet a Japanese soldier who he had saved in World War II. This person demanded Wolverine for the immortality that he was owning.

In this movie, Hugh Jackman had raised the level of fitness and diet to the most. As a result, the actor could show off his six-pack abs as well as sinewy arms in many scenes recorded in Japan.

A year later, the actor returned with a supporting role in the movie about young mutants X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014). Hugh Jackman was the only actor to take on the role as both young and old versions of Logan/ Wolverine. He was a bridge to change the past of other mutants.

At this time, the character of Wolverine lessened the firmness. Instead, he looked as neat as when he was playing X-2, although the actor’s face in his 40s had revealed age marks

In X-Men: Days of Future Past, Logan went back to the time of 1973. In fact, actor Hugh Jackman could not hide the aging on his face.

In 2016, Hugh Jackman was 47 years old. He returned to a supporting role in X-Men: Apocalypse although his performance had no relation to the main story of the movies. Wolverine at that time was having long hair, looking older, and loosing his abs.

In 2017, Hugh Jackman returned in a final movie about Logan/ Wolverine. The context of the movie was in 2029 when there was no new appearance of mutants for 20 years.

Despite the ability to regenerate cells, Wolverine still could not avoid the aging of time. The Adamantium metal injected in the body caused a serious delay in Wolverine’s self-healing process.
